Export PPTX or PDF? When to use each format
PPTX is for decks you will keep editing in PowerPoint. PDF is for sharing and printing. This note compares when each export fits.
Start with who receives the file
Both exports come from the same generated deck. The difference is whether the next person can edit it. Choose PPTX to keep changing copy, swap a logo, or add animation. Choose PDF to lock the version you are looking at.
If you need both, export twice: keep the PPTX, and send the PDF to people who should not edit it.
When to use PPTX
PPTX is a standard presentation file. Open it in PowerPoint or WPS when you still need a company template, animation, or a colleague filling in one slide of data.
Finish the words and the structure in Banana PPT first. Local software is for the last brand details, not for rebuilding a deck you have not read.
When to use PDF
PDF is for sharing, presenting, and printing. The layout stays closer to what you exported, and it is harder to change by accident. Lessons, external proposals, and archived versions should be PDF.
Before you print, skim the PDF for page breaks. Check that titles are not cut off and that chart labels are still readable.
A short rule
Still editing: PPTX. Sharing or printing: PDF. If you are unsure, export both and send only the PDF.
