Give an old deck a new look: the PPT refresh guide
Strong content, dated visuals? Upload it to Banana PPT. AI reads the structure and regenerates the deck in a new style, without a redesign from scratch.
Which decks are worth refreshing
Refresh works best when the argument is still right and only the layout is dated: a quarterly review, an old lesson, last year’s pitch. You want to keep the claims, the order, and the key numbers, not the old gradients and clip art.
If the original structure is a mess, a new visual system will not fix it. Clean the outline first, then use “From Outline”.
Upload a PDF when you can
On the home page, choose “PPT Renovation” and upload a PDF, PPTX, or PPT. The more reliable path is to convert the PPTX to PDF locally first. Parsing is usually more complete and faster.
Wait until parsing finishes, then pick a style. The style sets the new color and layout. It does not copy every decoration from the old file.
Whether to keep the original layout
Turn on “Keep original layout” when the page order and blocks are already clear and you only want a new look. Leave it off when the old slides are overcrowded and should be split and reflowed.
Either way, check numbers, names, and conclusions against the source after generation. Refresh changes presentation. It should not invent facts that were not in the file.
How to finish
Compare the new page count with the original chapters, then spot-check the data slides. If one page drifts, edit that page in plain language instead of regenerating the deck.
Export PPTX if you will keep editing locally. Export PDF if you are sending it to a colleague or a client.
